Building Resilience Through Innovation and Collaboration (BRIC)

A two-year initiative that strengthens Moldova’s resilience to disinformation, malign influences and interference from hostile actors.

Years active: 2024-present

The BRIC project (Sept 2024 – Aug 2026) works to counter disinformation and malign influences in Moldova at a critical time for the country’s future. It builds on our long experience in the Eastern Partnership and its support to Moldovan civil society and independent media.

The project has three main objectives:

  • To improve the resilience of Moldovan citizens to disinformation and hostile narratives;
  • To strengthen the capacity of local organisations to counter disinformation through training, mentoring and funding for innovative collaborative projects;
  • To enhance cross-sectoral coordination among civil society, media, academia, and state institutions via the Independent Countering Disinformation Centre (ICDC).

Key activities include supporting 13 Moldovan organisations through sub-grants, delivering tailored capacity building, running the Influencers Academy and convening regular cross-sectoral events. Together, these efforts aim to empower citizens, strengthen democratic resilience and create sustainable, locally owned mechanisms to combat disinformation.
