NGO reminds Jonathan of electoral promise
An NGO, Women for Change Initiative Volunteers, has appealed to President Goodluck Jonathan to fulfill his election promises of implementing the 35 per cent affirmative action that will ensure increased female representation in government.
The leader of the NGO, Mr Chinedu Agbaji, said Jonathan’s promise gingered women to totally participate in the last general elections.
According to agency reports, Agbali pointed out that winning an election was one part of the contract between the electorate and those in government while the other part is for those elected to fulfill their promises.
He also urged the president to look into the areas of unemployment, good road network, energy, decayed infrastructure, education and good health for the people, especially women.
