British Council Discusses Scholarship Programme

Syria Media Report, 22-Feb-08

The British Council in Damascus and Syria’s ministry of higher education are discussion an extension to an existing agreement whereby scientific research students and lecturers are sent to Britain.

SANA news agency reported on February 18 that Higher Education Minister Ghiath Barakat and the British Council’s Damascus director Paul Doubleday had discussed prolonging the 2002 agreement and also talked about providing new courses at Syrian universities.
