Al-Adala is issued daily by the Supreme Council of the Islamic Revolution in Iraq.
Sahib al-Ameri, secretary general of the Shaheed Allah Organisation, which is attached to the central Sadr office in Najaf, said Muqtada al-Sadr and the governor of Diwaniya denounced the violence in Diwaniya at a meeting on Monday. They agreed that no security forces other than the police should be allowed to enter the city and surrounding districts. Eyewitnesses said Mahdi army elements have withdrawn from the al-Nahdha and al-Wihda areas. Police will be deployed there instead in three days' time.
