Hewad is a state-run daily published mostly in Pashto.

A senior Taleban commander was killed in the Sangin district of the southern province of Helmand on April 8, US-led Coalition Forces in Kabul announced. Lieutenant Mike Cody, a spokesman for Coalition Forces in Kabul, confirmed the incident, adding that three other terrorists were also captured the same day in a separate operation conducted jointly by Afghan and Coalition troops in the Maiwand district of the southern province of Kandahar.
