Policeman wounded in Kandahar

Erada is an independent daily run by the Afghan Media and Resource Centre.

One Afghan national policeman was wounded when militants attacked a security post in the southern province of Kandahar on the night of May 5. Provincial police said that the militants escaped the area after facing stiff resistance from police. The attack sparked a clash between the two sides. Witnesses said it appeared that some of the militants were wounded. But Mohammad Ibrahim, a Taleban commander in the area said that no militants were injured in the clash and that the government forces suffered heavy casualties.
