UN favours Afghan control over aid money

Outlook is an independent daily published in English.

The United Nations will allow the Afghan government maximum authority over the spending of international assistance, Jean Marie Guehnno, UN Under-Secretary for Peacekeeping Operations, told a news conference in Kabul. Describing the first session of the Afghan parliament as a great success, Guehnno said the country had achieved this goal after a long struggle.
