Militants torch mosque, school in Logar

Hewad is a state-run daily published mostly in Pashto.

Unidentified gunmen set fire to a mosque and school in the Kharwar district of the central province of Logar on the night of May 1, officials said. A press officer at the Afghan interior ministry said that textbooks, including Korans, and school equipment were destroyed in the fire. The school has 150 students.
