The US-led Provincial Reconstruction Team in the eastern province of Laghman discovered and defused two mines on the Laghman-Jalalabad road close to the Qarghai district on April 22. Provincial security chief Jahan Shah said the mines were planted by the Taleban to target vehicles of Afghan and Coalition forces in the area. He said two explosive devices had been recovered so far while the search for others was continuing.
