Iranian Leader to Visit Turkmenistan

On August 14-15, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will pay an official visit to Turkmenistan where he will sign a number of bilateral agreements on energy.

This year, Iran, the second largest consumer of Turkmen gas after Russia, has increased its purchase order from eight billion to 14 billion cubic metres per year.

Iran and Turkmenistan are also implementing dozens of large joint economic projects in the construction, transport and energy sectors, worth a total of 500 million US dollars.
