Parliamentarian killed in Laghman

A member of the Wolesi Jirga, the lower house of parliament, was killed along with two associates in the village of Wardak in the eastern provinces Laghman on the morning of December 4. Interior ministry spokesman Yousuf Stanikzai said the deaths occurred when fight erupted between the deceased and a resident of the area, Haji Sardar Mohammad, over a stall that had been burned down. Residents claimed that a personal feud lay behind the clash.
