Policeman gunned down in mosque

Arman-e-Milli is an independent daily run by a group of journalists.

Unidentified armed men shot and killed a policeman as he was praying at a mosque in the Girishk district of the southern province of Helmand on the night of January 16. Girishk district police chief Khan Mohammad identified the victim as Tor Jaan, a security guard with the highway police. The policeman was taken to hospital in critical condition but died of his injuries. Khan Mohammad said police have launched an investigation but no arrest has been made yet.
