The Netherlands has called on Islamabad to share intelligence reports with Kabul in order to help prevent sabotage activities. Addressing a joint press conference with his Pakistani counterpart Mahmoud Kasuri in Islamabad on May 3, Dutch foreign minister Bernard Bot said regional cooperation would help stop subversive activities and suicide attacks. There are currently 400 Dutch troops in Afghanistan, and the Netherlands government has decided to deploy an additional 1,400 this summer.
