Sadrists Claim to Disarm Militias

Al-Sabah al-Jadeed is an independent daily paper.

A prominent figure from the Sadrist movement in Wasit Sheikh, Abdul Jawad al-Essawi said, Monday, that the Sadrists are assisting with the disarmament of militias, declaring that weapons should only be carried by government security forces. He advised all Iraqis to cooperate with security forces by informing officials about terrorists that target Sunni, Shia, and other sects and nations in Iraq. He maintained that this would strengthen the government's new security plan.
