Moldova: From Village to Village

Project trains people in more isolated areas how to identify and combat fake news.

Over the past several months, IWPR’s partner NGO in Moldova, the Association of Independent Press (API), has trained citizens in more rural areas of the country – who often remain particularly vulnerable to manipulation - in how to identify and counter disinformation.

Teachers from three of these areas - Tănătari, Lărguța and Alexăndreni - decided to carry out activities related to disinformation in their schools after having participated in discussions with API media experts about the threats of fake news and manipulation.

This publication was prepared under the “Countering Disinformation in Moldova” project, implemented with the support of Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).
