Attack on school thwarted in Helmand

Hewad is a state-run daily published mostly in Pashto.

Local residents thwarted a terrorist attack in the Nadali district of the southern province of Helmand on the night of April 2. Armed militants were trying to set fire to a school but were driven off by local residents, the Afghan interior ministry said. Provincial officials say residents have now realised what the enemies of peace and stability are aiming to do, and have begun fighting and resisting them.
