Two Taleban commanders killed in Uruzgan

Hewad is a state-run daily published mostly in Pashto.

Security forces have killed two renowned Taleban commanders in the Char Chino district of the southern province of Uruzgan, local officials said on March 13. An Afghan interior ministry press officer confirmed the incident, saying commanders Mullah Ghafar and Mullah Abdul Ghani were killed in a mopping-up operation by local security forces. The troops also seized three Kalashnikov assault rifles.
