Three policemen killed in Helmand

Hewad is a state-run daily published mostly in Pashto.

Taleban insurgents attacked a police check post in the Nadali district of the southern province of Helmand on the night of February 18, killing three policemen, officials said. The provincial security chief confirmed the incident, adding that the attack on police sparked a half-hour gun battle between the two sides. He said police have launched an investigation into the incident but no one has been arrested yet.
