New Head of Pamir Power Firm Comes from NGO Post

The new director general of PamirEnergy, the power company serving the mountainous southeastern region of Badakhshan, was most recently head of a United States aid mission in the same area. Daler Jumayev, appointed on April 12, is an electrical engineer by trade who has worked as a consultant for the Red Cross and Red Crescent, the World Bank, the US government aid agency USAID and the United Nations. His last post was as acting head of mission and regional coordinator for Badakhshan with FOCUS Humanitarian Assistance USA.
