Taleban Killings in Mazar-e Sharif Recalled

This radio interview is with Rahman, a resident of the northern Afghan city of Mazar-e Sharif, who lost 13 family members including his father and brother in a Taleban massacre in 1998.

Hundreds of Hazara civilians in the Qizilabad district were summarily killed after the Taleban captured the city. The incident appeared to be a reprisal for an incident the previous year when the Taleban took control of Mazar-e Sharif without fighting, but were ambushed and slaughtered once inside the city.
