Seven Afghan policemen were wounded when their vehicle hit a remote-controlled roadside bomb in the fifth district of the southern province of Kandahar on April 17. Colonel Shir Shah, the police chief for the district, said that the police vehicle in which the men were travelling was destroyed by the blast. Purported Taleban spokesman Qari Mohammad Yousuf has claimed responsibility for the attack.
