Committee to Investigate Allawi Attack

Al-Sabah al-Jadeed is an independent daily paper.

Interior minister Bayan Jabur, while visiting Kuwait, announced that he commissioned a special committee to investigate the attack on former prime minister Iyad Allawi in Najaf. He added that the committee will be headed by the ministry’s deputy, Ali Ghalib. (Allawi, who is leading the National Accord list in next week's parliamentary election, was attacked by a mob two days ago after leaving a mosque in Najaf.)
