Heroin precursor chemicals seized

Outlook is an independent daily published in English.

Security officials in the eastern province of Nangarhar on January 30 arrested two men with 2.4 tonnes of the chemicals used in producing heroin. A spokesman for the provincial police headquarters, Colonel Abdul Ghafoor, said the men were transporting ammonium chloride when they were detained in the Nazian district. The men were interrogated for information that might help in tracking down their accomplices, the spokesman said.
