Opinion: The Needed Position

Iraq draws the world's attention. Iran agreed to talk with America about the situation in Iraq, and the Arab summit put that issue on its agenda. Iraqis welcome any effort that addresses stability and peace making. The Iranian-American dialogue about Iraq was controversial because the two sides have different views about Iraq. The same thing can be said about the Arab states, which should help the political process through media outlets that need to support Iraqis who are confronting terrorism from outside of their borders, especially from the neighbouring states. Iraqis usually push foreign forces out of Iraq, so Arabs should not suspend their aid to Iraq until the foreign forces are withdrawn. They should help Iraqis in this current critical era to limit the time of the foreign presence in Iraq and to ripen the political process through which Iraqis can regain sovereignty. Analysts wrote many articles about the Arabs coming in late to help Iraqis after the fall of the dictatorship. If they had come in earlier, they would have saved Iraq from facing these ugly and bloody situations. There must be serious attempts to help Iraqis by aiding the newly-established government and by staying close to the Iraqi street to face terror funded by some neighbouring capitals.
