Our elected political parties have been trying nowadays to form the government. All Iraqis thank them for this effort because they got fed up waiting to see the birth giving of the new government as they got fed up with electricity. The parties have to agree on every thing because our democracy-like that of Lebanon- depends on unification. While they are holding their unofficial negotiations, they forget that there is a parliament where they should negotiate their issues under its dome like what usually happens in every democratic system in the world. It is ok to hold meetings and negotiations on the social levels; that might narrow the gaps between them, but it won’t hurt if they shift their negotiations regarding the formation of the government to the parliament in order that lawmakers might have their say about the new government. It is said that democracy is strengthened by the power of the parliament.
