Al-Ittihad is published daily by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.

Anbar tribal leaders have vowed to eliminate al-Qaeda terrorism in the province. In the first official meeting of the al-Anbar Provincial Council held in Baghdad, Deputy Governor Sheikh Moayyad Ibrahim al-Humeesh confirmed that Anbar province has been suffering at the hands of "takfiris"- Islamic extremists who label other Muslims as infidels.
