The head of the Supreme Council of the Islamic Revolution in Iraq, Abdul Aziz al-Hakim, said the Iraqi judicial system was weak in the trial of former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein. Hakim said that Saddam killed 60 of his family members, including seven of his brothers. Hakim said he will (present a case) when the Iraqi judicial system strengthens. The weakness delayed (the trial) and will delay sentencing Saddam, he added. He called Saddam a criminal who should be sentenced in line with Iraqi laws.
