Explosion kills policeman in Paktia

An Afghan National Police member was killed and another wounded when a mine went off in Gardez, capital of the south-eastern province of Paktia on January 23, officials said. Provincial officials blamed the incident on a personal feud. Security officials in Gardez have launched an investigation to determine whether the explosion was the work of anti-government militants, or whether there was a different motive.
