Three Afghan policemen were killed and two others were wounded when they came under attack in the Baghran district of the southern province of Helmand on the night of April 30, officials said. In a separate incident, nine Taleban members were killed in a sweep of the southern province of Kandahar, provincial governor Assadullah Khalid told reporters on April 30. He added that 12 suspected Taleban members were captured during the operation.
