Turkmen-Kazak Pipeline Talks to Resume on May 28

Turkmen president Gurbanguly Berdymuhammedov will pay an official visit to Kazakstan on May 28-29 to finalise an agreement to construct a new pipeline from Turkmenistan through Kazakstan to Russia. The agreement was reached when the presidents of all three countries met in Turkmenistan on May 12.



Other items on the agenda will include plans to create rail and ferry links between Kazakstan and Turkmenistan, the participation of Kazak companies in a free economic zone in the western port of Turkmenbashi, and cooperation on space programmes.
