Vice-President Adil Abdul Mahdi has said there are only two ways left to put an end to the political crisis engulfing the country. Either the political parties should reach a broad agreement, or the leaders of the political blocs should come to terms within the structure of parliament – the latter being the easier route. The vice-president also said no one has a right to stop the Marjiya [Shia clerical establishment] voicing its opinions about the political process, and noted that it never interferes in the details of the process.
