Bishkek Forum to Discuss Media and Terrorism

A forum to discuss the media’s role in counteracting terrorism, religious and political extremism, and racial and ethnic intolerance, will be held in Bishkek on May 21-24



Nikolai Bordyuzha, secretary-general of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation, CSTO, and Kyrgyz president Kurmanbek Bakiev will take part in the meeting, which will also talk about the media’s influence in achieving social harmony, and the potential for engaging civil society in the process.



Supported by the Kyrgyz government, the CSTO, the OSCE Centre in Bishkek, and the Anti-Terrorism Centre of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the event will be the first of its kind attended by Russian and Kyrgyz politicians, experts and journalists.
