Iran to Buy More Turkmen Gas

Turkmenistan’s president Gurbanguly Berdymuhammedov with meet his counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Iran on June 15 to discuss expanding gas sales. An agreement is already in place to increase the amount of gas Turkmenistan supplies to Iran from eight to 14 billion cubic metres per year.



These two neighbouring states have a long common border, and they are connected by a network of rail and road links, share a water reservoir on the Tejen river and cooperate on dozens of large economic projects.
