The speaker of the upper house of the parliament and head of the national reconciliation commission, Sibghatullah Mujaddidi, survived a suicide attack in Kabul on March 12. Addressing a press conference in Kabul shortly after the attack, Mujaddidi said, “The main factor of suicide attacks in our country is Pakistan’s Inter Services Intelligence (ISI).” Mujaddidi was on his way to work when an explosive-laden can hit his car, wounding his bodyguards and driver. A 12-year-old girl and a 70-year-old man – innocent bystanders - were killed in the incident, he said.
