Coalition Forces arrest former Hezb-e-Islami commander

Cheragh is an independent daily run by the Development and Democracy Association.

United States-led Coalition Forces arrested a former commander of Hezb-e-Islami in the eastern province of Laghman on the night of May 6, local officials said. Commander Rahmatullah was arrested in the Alingar district, the officials said. Elders in the district objected to the arrest and asked provincial governor Gulabuddin Mangal to monitor the activities of Coalition troops in the region.
