Taleban insurgents kidnapped three Afghans and an Indian road engineer in the southern province of Nimroz on November 19. Provincial governor Ghulam Dastagir said the four were working for an Indian construction company working on the Herat-Kandahar highway. The governor added that police have conducted a search operation in the area to find the abducted group. This is the first foreign engineer to be kidnapped in the last half-year; a Turkish engineer seized by the Taleban six months ago was later freed.
