United Iraqi Alliance national assembly member Sheikh Jalal al-Din al-Sagheer said the bloc continues to negotiate the (contentious) nomination for the premiership. Four blocs within the alliance, which had re-nominated sitting prime minister Ibrahim al-Ja'afari, voted to change (the candidate, whose nomination has been fiercely opposed by other parties.) Three blocs refused it. Five of the seven blocs need to agree to change the candidate. Sagheer said that other political alliances rejected Ja'afari for the post. He called on Ja'afari to solve this issue to keep the alliance united and strong.
