Security officials defused a bomb in Jalalabad, capital of the eastern province of Nangarhar, on March 6. Spokesman for the provincial police headquarters Colonel Abdul Ghafoor said that the fuse of the remote-controlled bomb went off when a police vehicle crossed the area. “The bomb was placed in an empty barrel on a crowded street. Our police defused it with the help of the Provincial Reconstruction Team, PRT,” he said. He added that police have not arrested anyone in connection with the incident.
