Police arrested a man in Kabul on February 13 on charges of killing three foreign journalists and five Afghan government employees. The man, named as Khatol, is accused of murdering three foreign journalists [in Sarobi] in late 2001, shortly after the fall of the Taleban regime [there have been other arrests in this case previously]. He is further accused of killing five government employees in 2004 in the Sarobi district of Kabul region. Kabul police chief Abdul Jamil Junbish said the five were working for the Rehabilitation and Rural Development Ministry and were on their way to Sarobi when they were abducted and killed by Khatol.
