Officials in Pakistan say a businessman from the country has been shot dead by unidentified armed men in the southern Afghan province of Kandahar. An official in the North West Frontier Province of Pakistan said the deceased, Jahangir Mahsoud, had gone to Afghanistan on business about three weeks earlier, and was killed by armed men in Kandahar three days ago. Kandahar security chief Abdul Hakim confirmed the killing, adding that an investigation has been launched but no arrests made so far.
