Afghan security forces arrested a former Hizb-e-Islami commander in the central province of Kapisa late on February 21, a local official said. Provincial police chief Mohammad Laqaa Andarabi said that Monawar Khan, a former Hizb-e-Islami commander, was arrested in the Tagab district. The official added that Monawar Khan, who led a 100-member group during the jihad against the Soviet Union, had been involved in several recent terrorist attacks.
