Hundreds of angry Iraqis demonstrated on February 7 in front of Samarra's provincial council to protest the notorious cartoons humiliating Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him.) They burnt the Danish and Norwegian flags. Council member sheikh Jasim Mumtaz asked the southern provinces to remove the Danish troops because their nation connected Islam with terrorism. The head of the Islamic party in Samarra, sheikh Jamal al-Kilani, said every true Muslim should denounce the cartoons which abused Prophet Mohammed.
