Sistani Writes to Mubarek

Al-Mashriq is published daily by Al-Mashriq Institution for Media and Cultural Investments.

Grand Ayatullah Ali al-Sistani wrote a message to the Egyptian President Husni Mubarek regarding his latest declarations about the Shia. Sources close to the top Shia cleric said the message was handed over to the Egyptian embassy in Beirut with out giving any other details. Meanwhile, the young Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr has criticized Mubarek for his announcement about the Shia being loyal to Iran saying that the Shia's loyalty is only to Islam and to Arab community. He reminded all the Arab leaders that Iraq is passing through critical situations and that all should aid it instead of announcing what might help in igniting the civil war.
