Officials arrested on drugs charges

Arman-e-Milli is an independent daily run by a group of journalists.

Police arrested four government officials on charges of smuggling drugs in the Shahr-e-Safa district of the southern province of Zabul on March 15, officials said. Provincial police chief Nabi Mullakhel said that suspects were arrested while attempting to smuggle drugs from Kabul to Kandahar. The official described the men as senior government officials but did not disclose their identities. He said the detained officials are under investigation by local police.
