The Iraqi health ministry source said that the French Merieux company is prepared to discuss with the Iraqi ministries of health and justice and with the Iraqi embassy in France giving compensation to Iraqis infected with AIDS from blood imported by the company in the 1980s. At least 60 (haemophiliacs) -- most of them children -- were infected with the disease through blood transfusions.
