Rocket attack attributed to bandits

Three rockets have been fired at a security post in the Char Bolak district of the northern province of Balkh, but there were no casualties, officials said on December 19. Local police say the attack was the work of armed robbers who often hold people up on the Mazar-e-Sharif to Shiberghan highway. Balkh province has witnessed several armed robberies in recent months. Char Bolak district is 40 kilometres west of Mazar-e-Sharif, Balkh’s main city.
