Taleban fighter killed in Paktia

Erada is an independent daily run by the Afghan Media and Resource Centre.

One Taleban fighter was killed and two others were captured by police in the Zurmat district of the south-eastern province of Paktia on the night of March 2, officials said. Provincial security chief Ghulam Nabi Salem said that the incident happened after Taleban insurgents attacked a security post in the district overnight. Meanwhile, a Taleban spokesman claimed that four policemen were killed in the same attack. Provincial officials say they have launched a manhunt for the Taleban fighters.
