Bank vehicle robbed in Kabul

Anis is a state-run daily published mostly in Dari.

Armed robbers opened fire on a car belonging to the Pakistan-owned Habib Bank in Kabul on February 19, and made off with 320,000 US dollars the vehicle was carrying, officials said. The head of the criminal investigation branch at Kabul police headquarters, Abdul Jamil Kohistani, said robbers in the Sherpur area of Kabul wounded a guard during the attack, and a policeman was killed later when the thieves clashed with police in the Qala-e-Musa area. Police have launched a search operation to arrest the robbers.
