When the provincial council of al-Muthanna governorate ordered Colonel Muhammed Najim Abu-Kahila to step down as police chief in the provincial capital Samawah, his tribe took action. A group of tribal members fired mortar bombs at the provincial governor’s office and police buildings in Samawa.
