A Taleban militant was arrested in the Panjwayee district of the southern province of Kandahar during a mopping-up operation on May 7. According to a press release issued by the Afghan defence ministry in Kabul, the operation was conducted jointly by the Afghan National Army, the National Police and United States-led Coalition Forces. The source added that in a separate operation the same day, the 205th Atal army corps seized a quantity of arms in the neighbouring province of Zabul.
